Anthony Schiliro is a world traveler who explores culture and daily life through the lens of his camera.
Italy & Sicily
Italy was Anthony Schiliro’s first major travel destination. He arrived in Rome, wandered through cobblestone alleys, and stood in awe under the Sistine Chapel. But it was Sicily that truly captured him.

In Sicily, he explored Palermo’s vibrant markets, the ancient ruins of Agrigento, and the quiet seaside towns along the coast. He’s drawn to the contrasts—the layers of Greek, Roman, Arab, and Norman influence all blending into one unique culture.
Anthony often photographs:
- Crumbling facades in narrow streets
- Everyday life in open-air markets
- Warm light at golden hour in small towns
- Ancient ruins and coastal cliffs
Sicily remains one of his favorite places for travel photography.
Spain
Spain offers endless visual inspiration. Anthony has visited Barcelona, Seville, and Granada, with each city offering a different texture and tone.
In Barcelona, he focused his lens on:
- Gaudí’s surreal architecture
- The Gothic Quarter’s shadows and arches
- Street performers and evening gatherings
In Seville, he documented flamenco dancers mid-motion and candlelit processions during Semana Santa. He loves the way Spain blends the sacred and the celebratory in everyday life.
Vietnam
Anthony traveled from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City, with stops in Hoi An and the Mekong Delta. He was captivated by the contrasts—bustling cities, peaceful rice fields, and river life.
Favorite photography subjects in Vietnam include:
- Street food vendors at sunrise
- Lantern-lit alleys in Hoi An
- Motorbike traffic as a form of choreography
- Floating markets and stilt houses
He describes Vietnam as one of the most dynamic and photogenic places he’s ever visited.
Puerto Rico
In Puerto Rico, Anthony explored both Old San Juan and the lush landscapes of El Yunque. He focused on color, rhythm, and nature.
His camera captured:
- Bright blue buildings and cobblestone streets
- Waves crashing along the cliffs of Rincón
- Rainforest light filtering through dense leaves
He appreciates Puerto Rico for its blend of natural beauty and cultural pride.
Paris
Anthony returns to Paris often. He prefers quiet mornings in Montmartre and walks along the Seine over major landmarks.
He photographs:
- Bookstalls and bridges
- Café windows and rain-slick streets
- Classic black-and-white portraits of Parisians in motion
Paris, for him, is a city of reflection. He often brings philosophy books with him and finds inspiration in its slow pace and cinematic mood.
England
His time in England focused on London, Oxford, and the Lake District. Each place offered a different kind of visual story.
In London, he enjoyed:
- Brick alleys and street art in Shoreditch
- Foggy mornings and riverside views
- Portraits of musicians and artists at local pubs
In Oxford, he photographed aged college buildings and quiet libraries. In the Lake District, he captured wide landscapes, dramatic skies, and stone cottages tucked into green hills.
Hong Kong

Anthony visited Hong Kong for its visual extremes—towering high-rises, neon lights, dense street life, and pockets of quiet nature.
His favorite shots include:
- The view from Victoria Peak at dusk
- Evening markets filled with color and movement
- Ferry rides across Victoria Harbour
- Contrasts between old temples and new architecture
Hong Kong challenged him to adapt to fast-paced environments, perfect for candid street photography.
Singapore
In Singapore, Anthony explored Chinatown, Little India, Marina Bay, and the Gardens by the Bay. He found inspiration in the city’s balance of modern elements and cultural richness.
Photography highlights include:
- Futuristic structures in Marina Bay
- Colorful shophouses in Joo Chiat
- Hawker centers and their lively food culture
- The blend of religions and rituals in temples and mosques
Singapore sharpened his eye for color, structure, and contrast.
